Watch the power connector, it’s very delicate and it can be broken if not handle carefully (i broke one and got a replacement from "that aution site E"). The speed is great and the ASDM has greatly improved from the days of the PIX 501 SDM. The device is very stable ,site to site VPN is always up.
The 10 user license is cheaper but I would recommend this one to cover growth (trust me i learned this the hard way).If you exceed your license limit the device will drop hosts randomly and it’s a pain to trouble shoot if you overlook the license limit. Although this model is suitable for small businesses, branch offices or even home use, its firewall security capabilities are the same as the biggest models (5510, 5520, 5540 etc). Overall Review: I have installed 4 of this on various sites (3 are 10 users and 1 has 50 user licenses). The Cisco ASA 5505 Firewall is the smallest model in the new 5500 Cisco series of hardware appliances. Have to use websense web filter if you want to filter web content. I am a CLI guy but i love this new version.Ĭons: Only 2 SSl VPN licences, i wish Cisco gave more.Ĭost, but you get what you pay for.
